Hope and Fear

Oft we cry for the future to alleviate the despair of today

The rawness of now, often seems too hard to behold

We cover it up with whatever will dull the brightness

Blame, guilt, expectations, perfection, striving, hope, violence, despair, the list can seem endless.

It’s all in the name of masking now, the present moment, the most important time of all,

The only time we really have, NOW.

For a change embrace now in all its inglorious gloriousness.

In the myriad of colours, textures and meaning,

Lay the truest glimpse of heaven you could strive for.

It’s in the tarnish the shine hides, waiting to be discovered.
