My step daughter Brooke gets married to Adam this weekend and I said to myself that each day this week leading up to the wedding I would jog and do some weights to just know I'm feeling good physically about myself on their big day.

So this morning I ventured out onto the track and began a short jog and within a few minutes stopped jogging and began walking. I just didn't have the energy. Then that thought that had stayed with me for a few days about doing the jog thing everyday tapped into my ego which said "thank you very much" and proceded to have a field day. Failure, your suit will be too tight ... on the ego abuse went.

But I breathed and remembered God is everything "now". Not then, not when but now. So I looked around me as I walked and noticed a Kookaburra following us as we walked (I was walking with Ice our dog who also seemed to be having an off day!). It bought a smile to my face as the Kookaburra stayed with us for a few hundred metres. Beautiful.

Then a little further along as I walked, I came across a glorious coloured feather, perfect in every way. A little further along I came across a U bolt that I lost from our trailer some time ago. I thought to myself what are the chances of discovering that again on 40 acres of forest! The feather, the Kookaburra and the U bolt reminded me of the poem about the Sacraments:

I spoke to my friend, an old squirrel, about the Sacraments -
he got so excited

and ran into a hollow in his tree and came
back holding some acorns, an owl feather
and a ribbon he had found.

And I just smiled and said, "Yes, dear,
you understand"

It's all in the moment. That's where God, life, meaning is found. Embrace the moment and you will find joy where there was despair, surety where there was uncertainty, love where there was fear.

Simply put, walk if that is what is required, even though you were sure you should jog, in the moment it's all perfect.
